I keep having this reoccurring sketch running around in my head so I thought I better write it down.

Opening scene:

An older fatter Jack Bower and Chloe O’Brien sitting on a couch in front of the T.V. They are eating dinner. Jack is shoveling his food down when a spoonful drops on his gray dirty sweatshirt. “Daaaaammmmitttt!!!!!!!” Jack yells as he dust the food onto the floor.

“Quiet Jack, I can’t here the T.V.” Chloe say’s her lips pursed and her eyebrows furrowed.

“Shut up Chloe” The both stare at the T.V.

Someone knocks on the door.

Jack and Chloe spring to action, Guns close at hand, Jack attempts to do a forward roll to the door. He farts.

Chloe pull out her computer and attempts to gather all the surveillance data she can on the other side of the door.

Jack is sweating, gun ready.

“It’s just the land lord Jack” they put their guns down, open the door just a peep find out what he wants and they go back to sitting at he T.V.

Major Changes

Well howdy folks,

After about a year and a half, I am resurrecting my blog. So much has changed since I last wrote. The Hakes and The Johnsons are no longer living together. We now live in Grants Pass and my parents live in a caretakers cabin on a 500 acre ranch. Our horses are in a 200 acre pasture with 25 other horses. My parents have custody over our dog Lucky and Bryan's dog Alley Bella. Bryan now lives with us in a cozy 3 bedroom single wide. The Lord is faithful to take care of all of our needs and he did that beautifully when he moved us out of our house.

Erik became progressivly ill during our move. We thought it was his back and his asthma. One weird symptom was that three of his fingers were cold, numb and turning purple. He didn't want to go see a doctor. Since we don't have insurance we usually send him to the emergency room where they give him a perscription for his back and asthma med. This time they kept him. They said he was septic with a blood infection. After the third day in the hospital Pastor Sleadd and Brad McMurray came in at seperate times to pray for him. The next day he White cell count was down to a healthy level. The doctor's were scratching their heads while they reconcidered the diagnosis. Erik came home the next day and although he was still a very sick puppy he has since made a full recovery. A couple of weeks later at his check up, his doctor said, "you look pretty good for someone who almost died." They said four more days and he would have died. We had no Idea he was that sick. Praise The Lord for his mercies.

I can't believe so much time has past, Jordan is almost 17yrs now. She read a book "Do Hard Things" by Joshua Harris. In it he suggested that young women reach out to famileis in the church and help the mothers with thier childeren. So we reached out to Rebbeca Hewitt. She has four childern, they are all young, the youngest is one. When she first started all of the childeren were afraid to talk to her and Josia screamed when she picked him up. Jordan had never been exposed to little kids before. Now Josia reaches for her to hold him and the kids are excited to see her come to their house. Someday when she has her own home I am hoping it will be a breeze. She is also trading services (housekeeping and child care) with Colleen Sleadd for piano lessons. She is working hard and learning so much. Her passion for Horses have taken a back burnner to her desire to be a good mother and wife someday.

Bryan is living with us now. Just after he moved in with us, his appartment flooded. Most of what he owned would have been ruined. See Bryan God is looking out for you too. It is so wonderful having my family under the same roof. I have missed Bryan so much while he was out in the cold cruel world. Now he eats food on a regular basis and when he comes home it is warm and he is not alone. I am glad you are home Bryan.

About a year and a half ago I said we were going to give up the television. Well we finally did about a week or two ago. Its has been hard, if people are not getting along the house gets really small. I been reading books and enjoying the peace and tranquility.

Tonight we watched the first half of Fiddler on the Roof. It got too late, we had to shut it down. We all love that movie. It was so funny, as we watch the movie these songs would start that we have been singing since before Jordan was born, like Tradition! And If I Were a Rich Man, Jordan would be quietly giggling in here chair as she finally realized where these songs came from.

I cooked meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn tonight. I don't' know whats up with my oven but I could not get the meatloaf to cook all the way through. So the mashed potatoes, gravy and corn are all gone but there is an entire pan of Meatloaf in the fridge. bummer.

Well I think thats plenty to start with, I will try to continue on. I don't know if anyone is out there but who ever you are. Sweet dreams. Holly

New Routines

There are a lot of changes going on in the Johnson house hold. For starters a few weeks ago, on our way to church we spotted and old weight bench on someones yard that was being given away, so we snagged it. On Monday Erik, me, Jordan and Grandma all began a morning weight lifting routine. On the days that we are not weight lifting, we do stomach crunches and endurance walking, for those in shape (Jordan), she jogs. This is so much fun, we are doing just a certain portion of our body daily so it doesn't seem like a lot but I sure feel it. I'm so excited, I may just get the old me back. I also should mention that before we start our routines we read a chapter of scripture and pray to start our day out in a God centererd frame of mind.

Here are a bunch of pictures that I want to show and yes they are all of Jordan. One of these days when our work out routines pay off I'll let you see me. Until then you get Jordan.

Lets start with the Centennial Play. We made a dress for Jordan. The dress in the pattern was pretty but what we ended up with exceeded our imagination. We started on Monday and the event was on Friday, we took Tuesday off. We made this dress in four days. Praise God that my mom has a history in sewing.

To switch gears a bit, we got some new baby chicks they are so cute.

So I guess that's all for now, I'll find some photo's of my son Bryan, he doesn't live with us anymore but I am proud of him, he is working and doing great at his job, he is going to school to be a Journalist. He wants to be a big city reporter. Go Bryan! Talk to ya later.

Toes

Just a random picture of Jordan's toes. She can wave them like fingers. This was before a draft horse stepped on her foot, twisted his giant hoof and took off her big toe nail.

A miracle around every corner

Pinch me, am I dreaming? This has been a tragic month for us here at the Johnson/Hake house. We had 2 cats and my parents had 2 cats. Three of them from the same batch 14 years ago. One year after Jordan was born. Cuffs and Fonzy (ours), Sylvester and Princess (theirs). Cuffs, Sylvester and Princess were all born from the same family. We got Fonzy four years ago. Cuffs and Sylvester died this month about 3 weeks apart. Shortly after we had some family over from out of town and Fonzy disappeared. He has been gone for two weeks and just this morning he came home, light as a feather. He gulped down some canned cat food, he wanted more but he was close to starving to death so we will feed him again soon. We thought for sure he was dead, Jordan has been in mourning over the only cats she has ever known. Welcome home Fonzy.

Monday, Monday

Today I woke up singing Monday, Monday by the Mama and the Papas. I don't know why, but I hope to day is a good day, I am alive so it starting out great. On February 17th regular television signals are going digital, so you have to either buy a digital television or get a box that requires yet more money. So our family has decided to go anti-television on that day. We are also going to go through our movie collection and get rid of any inappropriate movies. I hear you, 'Why not do it now'. Okay so you don't know me. My name is Holly and I am addicted to television. In our family I have a Joke, that someday I am going to be in rehab somewhere and in our group circle they will ask, "Holly, what was your entry drug?" To which I will reply "Television." Whats hard is that my parents live with us and they will have television in their room. I don't think it will be that hard for anyone else in the family because they all primarily watch Movies. Anyway, Pray for us, if we are shaking and sweating and talking with a stutter, you will know we are going through withdrawal.
